Established in 1998, Hexagon is a software company specializing in development and marketing of products and related services addressing all RF aspects of wireless networks: radio propagation, network planning, network optimization, network deployment and operation.
Hexagon’s products support a variety of radio technologies and applications, including WiMAX (fixed and mobile), UMTS, GSM, CDMA, BWA and Wi-Fi.
Our products aid the operators in developing efficient Greenfield networks, and in enhancing the performance, and cost effectiveness of existing networks.
Hexagon is a global leader in WiMAX network planning and optimization software.
Major WiMAX vendors use Hexagon’s products to plan, deploy, and maintain WiMAX networks. WiMAX operators all over the world are selecting Hexagon, and the products are installed at over 15 WiMAX operators.
Hexagon’s products for UMTS/GSM/CDMA include unique analysis and optimization features, such as virtual drive-test and 3D analysis, and are deployed at many operators.
Hexagon is an active member of ETSI and IEEE WiMAX standardization bodies.
Hexagon markets its products directly and through a network of international partners and distributors.

Hexagon has 2 main lines of products:
Radio network planning and optimization
Hexagon provides a flexible, highly integrated, and fully automated set of radio planning and optimization software tools supporting WiMAX, UMTS, GSM, CDMA, BWA and Wi-Fi networks. These tools will accompany the operators throughout the on-going adaptation and optimization stages of their wireless network.
Geo-Location engine for accurate location of mobile network users and related applications
Hexagon developed a Geo-Location software engine for accurate location of mobile phones, and related applications utilizing the engine.
Locates accurately both out-building and in-building calls. An order of magnitude better accuracy than standard positioning systems that are using just cell ID + propagation delay.
Hexagon developed products that make use of the Geo-Location engine for the purpose of wireless network performance monitoring and optimization, law enforcement and homeland security, and public safety (e.g., 911, E112):
- NIR-Event is a geo-location application for network monitoring and optimization
- HAWK is an LBS system for real-time mobile location - an application used for emergency services and homeland security.
